Powerful Smart Car Now At The Brentwood in Danvers

The Brentwood Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center, a proud member of the Marquis Health Services family, is pleased to announce their newly renovated 2,300 sq. ft. gym, showcasing a cutting edge Smart Car that allows individuals to re-adapt transitioning in and out of a motor vehicle as part of their overall rehabilitation.

Conveniently located in the Danvers neighborhood and in close proximity to many area hospitals including Salem Hospital, Union Hospital and Beverly Hospital, The Brentwood is a leading Short-Term Rehab provider in the vicinity, and the ideal environment for individuals who require intense physical, occupational and speech therapy following a hospital stay.

Featuring a Specialized Stroke Recovery Program under the direction of a Board Certified Neurologist, the now completed 2.5 million dollar renovation project boasts a modern ADL Suite that features a model kitchen, bedroom and bath that allows individuals to practice various levels of mobility and get excited about gaining back their independence to go back to their cherish daily routines. Crowning the fully renovated dedicated subacute unit, is The Brentwood’s expansive state-of-the-art gym that entices patients to attain new levels of mobility in an environment suffused with light that clearly conveys an all-encompassing feeling of warmth.

Upholding Marquis’ distinctive Rehabbing Care™ motto, patients at The Brentwood will certainly benefit from the Smart Car, as it enables its stellar staff of specialized therapists to assist patients in the practice of getting in and out of a car without worry. It will also assist in family training thus allowing them to safely assist their loved one if needed – once they return home.

“What is really remarkable about The Brentwood”, says Lisa Danvers, Occupational Therapist, “is the sense of warmth and camaraderie that permeates our entire facility because it sets the stage for a positive rehabilitative experience. As part of the renovations, the rehab gym now has a new standing frame and parallel bars for the patients who may need more support to get back on their feet; these tools enable them to start out at a level of care that is appropriate for them”.

As patients progress through all the steps in rehab, they finish with using a new set of stairs that feature two different height levels to allow for different levels of difficultly and practice on what they may encounter once they return to daily life in their community.
